Recent accomplishments include developing energy policy for a Fortune 500 company, taking on some of the largest corporations in the world on behalf of local businesses, and running the largest small business association in the state. His areas of expertise include business policy development, energy policy, healthcare policy, tax policy, workers comp and unemployment insurance reform, and information technology development and strategic planning.

For more than 20 years, Charleston Laffin has been the voice of one of South Carolina’s leading industries at the Statehouse and beyond. Her work has yielded significant legislative victories and secured tremendous economic development wins. To 1101 Public Affairs, she brings not only a wealth of experience, but also her ability to work on both sides of the aisle to accomplish our clients’ goals. She holds long-standing relationships and valuable connections both in the political realm and in many state and regulatory agencies. In addition, Charleston is a clear communicator, a fierce negotiator, and highly adept strategist.

Founder of the strategic communications firm the Homeyer Strategy Group and partner in 1101 Public Affairs, Wendy is a communications strategist with more than two decades of experience who has created effective external affairs, marketing and fundraising campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, elected officials, political action committees, caucuses, state agencies, foundations, associations, not-for-profit organizations and two U.S. Presidents. She served as the principal external affairs consultant for Dominion Energy in its purchase of SCANA Energy. Currently, she advises Lockheed Martin in all communication matters with the state of South Carolina related to the F-16 fighter jet.
